Assessing the Post-Election Day Moment, Charting What’s Next

Monday, November 11, 2024 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM EST

November 10, 2024

The 2024 elections will likely have left our communities, movements, and society in a dangerous place. That’s why Dr. Manski and CSSR's Movement Engaged Hub are co-convening this special post-election day assembly. As we move through this uncertain period, we invite movement leaders, organizers, independent journalists, scholars, and community members to come together for critical reflection and connection.

Monday, November 11, Noon to 2pm EST: Click here to RSVP

What to expect: Insights and analysis from journalists Norman Stockwell (Progressive.org), Laura Flanders (The Laura Flanders Show), and Erin Aubry Kaplan (contributing writer for The New York Times, Politico, LA Times); a panel discussion with social movement thinkers Matt Nelson (Presente.org), Suren Moodliar (How We Win), Dan Schlademan (union strategist, Senior Advisor O2O), and Cheri Honkala (Poor People’s Army); breakout sessions on key topics like the future of voting rights & election integrity, mobilizing against political violence, understanding elite responses, and grassroots interventions.

Miki’ala Catalfano (Native Roots Network), Dr. Ben Manski (GMU Professor), and April Doner (Living World Studios) will guide us through the Assembly.

This is more than a debrief—this is a call to social solidarity. Although we’re facing unprecedented challenges and threats to our communities, in moments of crisis, we also find new possibilities.

Join us to make sense of the moment collectively and share ideas for immediate action and long-term organizing. Together, we can make sense of the chaos and find our path forward.

Hosted by Resist & Build, Movement Engaged Research Hub at George Mason University, Presente.org, How We Win, The Progressive, The Laura Flanders Show, US Solidarity Economy Network, The Democracy Collaborative, People’s Network for Land & Liberation, and Shelter and Solidarity, others TBA.
